We head first to Dartington Glass in Great Torrington.
Having learnt a little of their glass making story in the Visitor Centre you then tour the factory to see “up-close” how molten glass is transformed into items of beauty and function.
After our visit to Dartington Glass we head just a short distance away to Castle Hill Gardens.
Situated on the Southern edge of Exmoor and in the rolling hills of North Devon, these beautiful gardens showcase 50 acres of historic Parkland set against the breath-taking 18th Century Palladian Mansion House.
Start with a walk through the Millennium Garden with its striking water feature and onto the walled garden.Pathways lead across formal terraces in front of the house where the eye is drawn to the distant Triumphal Arch and magnificent Holwell Temple. Wander through the woodland gardens, stroll down to the river and take a climb to the Castle for panoramic views to Exmoor, Dartmoor and beyond.
